about Koa: what is Koa?
Beauty and strength
The koa tree (acacia koa) is endemic to Hawaii. It is a fast growing tree, with a dark, interesting grain and great strength. It was used by native Hawaiians to build canoes, but few trees are left with the size and symmetry required. Common uses for koa today include furniture and woodcarvings. Koa is also a tonewood used in the making of musical instruments, such as guitars and the ubiquitous Hawaiian ukulele.
The koa tree says a lot about what we do here at Koa Media. Our creative work is functional, attractive, and a little bit exotic. Koa leaves are designed to allow sunlight to filter through to the lower leaves of the tree. We help your message filter through to everyone in your target audience.
